Listed below is a summary of some of the areas where PPP assistance will be of benefit to the life of the College. Please tick in the box against the area/s in which you may wish to assist.

College Community

Canteen - Parent assistance is required each day for approximately 2.5 hours any time between 8.30am and 1pm.

Washing & Ironing - Throughout the year assistance is required to wash and/or iron the Primary and Secondary School tea towels, Science lab coats, tablecloths and sick-bay bed linen. Tea towels and sick bay linen needs to be collected on a weekly basis, from the Primary Reception area each Friday at 3pm and Secondary Student Reception at 3.15pm and returned on Monday by 8.30am.

P&F - Meetings Attendance at P&F Meetings, will earn two PPP hours per family for each meeting attended. Please record your attendance on your Timesheet and sign the attendance register at each meeting to ensure your time is recorded.

College events - Involvement and assistance with drama performances, music productions, Presentation nights, College Reunions, etc.

Uniform Shop - The Uniform Shop operates each Tuesday and Thursday from 8am to 11.30am and 12.30 to 4pm. Parent assistance is also required on Mondays from 9am to 11am.

Library - Assistance is required in both the Secondary and Primary Libraries with a variety of tasks, including covering and shelving books, some of which may be done at home.

RACE Reading Program - It is a before-school program starting at 8.15am. Volunteers assist on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8.15am to 8.50am. They are able to claim 35 mins towards their PP hours at each session. Students are from Years 2 and 3.

RTL Reading Program - RTL stands for Reading To Learn and is in the library before school on Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 8.15am to 8.50am. Parent volunteers are required to read with one student at a time, promoting fluency and decoding of unfamiliar words. Questioning and discussion after the book is an important part of the program to ensure that the student has gained meaning from the text. Parents would be able to claim 35 mins towards PPP hours at each session.

Primary P&F Event assistance - Requested assistance at Primary School P&F supported events will earn two PPP hours per family for each event eg. Primary Fun Night. Please record your attendance on your Timesheet and sign the attendance register at each event to ensure your time is recorded.

Primary Class Parent Roster assistance - Requested assistance from the Class Teacher for the Kindergarten and Pre Primary Parent Roster will earn two PPP hours per family. Please record your attendance on your Timesheet and ensure it is signed by the Class Teacher to ensure your time is recorded.

Secondary Sport - From time to time, parent assistance is advertised in the Secondary School newsletter. We often require help at school carnivals such as swimming, cross country and athletics. The roles include marshalling, scoring and timings and are a great way to get up close and involved in the great fun atmosphere of the carnivals. Assistance is also needed for Lower and Secondary Athletics barbeques.

Primary Sport - Assistance is required on carnival and school sports days. Please refer to Primary Newsletters for when the various events are on and contact Primary Reception if you are able to assist.

Science - Assistance is required with the preparation of equipment stock lists (will require a knowledge of Microsoft Excel) and the repairing of laboratory coats as required.

Technologies - Textiles and fabrics require assistance on occasions with simple sewing tasks, threading bobbins and preparing fabrics for classes.

Exam Supervision - Parents are asked to assist teachers in the area of exam supervision for Senior Secondary students.

Drama Department - In the preparation for a drama production, the Drama Department may need help from parents with dressmaking, basic sewing, make-up, hairdressing, stagecraft, costume laundering and set construction.

First Aid - Some tasks need to be done at the College, while others can be done in your own home. These include laundry and cleaning.

General - The College needs parents to help with a variety of activities, ranging from assistance in the Classroom and the Art Room. If you wish to offer classroom assistance, please liaise directly with the respective teacher.

Please note that whilst in some instances the College will contact parents directly asking for help, on most occasions requests for help will be advertised in the College eNewsletter, and parents should respond as advised.
