College Colours Application Form

General Information

Students applying for College Colours must have demonstrated an ongoing level of involvement in activities, thereby enriching their own life and the LJBC community. Determine if you qualify for College Half Colours or Full Colours by using the required criteria for the Colours Award you are applying for in the links below.

Arrange a meeting with a member of the Awards committee to discuss your application and to complete and submit the Colours Application Form. Any applications received after the closing date will be carried over to the next term. The specific date for each term is published on notice boards, the College eNewsletter and Student Notices. The Awards committee will consider your application and a member of the Awards Committee will contact you regarding the outcome of your application. If you have not met the criteria, you will be given the opportunity to address those criteria so you can reapply at a later date.

If your application is successful, you will be presented with a certificate and a badge at either a College Assembly or House Assembly and will be acknowledged in the Impressions magazine in the year you have received the Award.

Process

Follow the steps below to complete your College Colours application and select to show that you have completed each.

1. Compile a draft resume outlining the contributions you have made to support your application for this award; This could be in table format as shown below. You may write an opening or closing paragraph: however it is preferable you present the majority ofyour content in a Word table or similar. If the supervising teacher's name is not provided, your application will not be considered.

2. Make an appointment with a member of the Awards Committee, who will discuss your application with you and provide feedback. Awards committee staff are listed on the College Colours posters on notice boards.

3. In response to the feedback: use this document for your application and attach your final resume in which you provide evidence on how you have met the specific criteria in the area you are applying for. Use the same table format for Step 1. For Curriculum Colours, also submit your Certificates of Excellence when applying for Half Colours or School Reports when applying for Full Colours.

4. Make a time to meet with your Head of House so he/she can endorse you as a student of exemplary standards.
